Bojack Horseman Season 5.

Well, it has been a while. I guess it all comes down to work and bad time management but I really need to get back in the game, so to speak. Life is pretty funny like that, sometimes you have too much time and at other times there aren’t enough hours in the day. It would be great to find that sweet spot that combines the two. Basically, today is just a quick review to help me try to get into a routine again. This is just a look at season 5 of Bojack Horseman, definitely my favourite animated show at the moment. Well, let’s get to it.

I love animation and looking at the amount of amount of adult based cartoons available on Netflix, I’m not the only one. I really think it’s great how animation has managed to make the jump from Saturday morning television and grown with its audience, now living in the new world of instant demand. Personally, for me it started with the Simpson’s and South Park; both of these shows have become critically acclaimed and highly successful. I have to also give a nod to Dr Katz, I loved that show and currently listening to the audiobook but let’s get to Bojack Horseman . . . .

Bojack Horseman brings humans and the animals together, each one interacting with each other with hilarious situations occurring and it’s such a genius idea. Bojack Horseman is a horse of course who is a struggling actor who found fame in a 90s TV called Horsin Around. Not only that he has a lot of time on his hands and a head full of memories that have left him questioning his own life. From season one to four I have watched this character go through disaster after disaster and then is when the penny dropped for me in season 5, this characters struggles are as real as mine and many others, and those problems just don’t go away with the click of a finger.

Season 5 of Bojack Horseman is pretty special and this show is definitely getting better every season. It looks like Bojack’s life is about to become a car crash literally but amongst the pain and suffering the creators manage to make some of the funniest moments I have watched on a show before. So amongst stories of drug addiction, dementia and death we get to meet Tod and his sex robot. If you haven’t watched the show then I don’t want to spoil anything for you. If you have, I can only guess you share the same love for this show as I have. if anything you should watch the episode Free Churro because I don’t think I have watched anything as clever or funny in my entire life like this on a TV show before.  Okay, this isn’t the most detailed of reviews but I have been struggling to write lately, so hopefully this enough to ignite my passion again. Thanks for reading and I will be back with you again next week.
